MyEChinese Distance Education and Publishing System
The “MyEChinese Distance Education and Publishing System” was jointly planned, researched, and developed by the Chinese Language Centerand Open University of China’s Multimedia Press. It consists of three large platforms, namely international Chinese language distance education, resources management, and digital publishing and trade. Centered on an internet platform, it utilizes various digital publishingand distribution channels, including the internet, radio and television, mobile communication, learning terminals, and more. With the added help of face-to-face instruction and traditional publishing, it organically combines classroom content, and educational services andpublishing to meet the needs of learners and teachers throughout the international community of Chinese linguistic and cultural education.This project will not only spread Chinese language and culture abroad, improve international exchange and communication, and become animportant platform for promoting China’s soft power, but will also become a breakthrough trans-industry program thanks to its exploration and establishment of an integrated system that combines distance education content and services with digital publishing and trade. In April2011, this program was chosen as one of nineteen educational programs included in the 12th Five-Year Plan’s National Key Electronic Publication Publishing Plan. In May 2011, it was approved for entry into the National Press and Publication Reform and Development Projects Library.
China Panorama – Visual Encyclopedia of China
“China Panorama – Visual Encyclopedia of China” is a large-scale educational video project planned by the Chinese Language Center. It is divided into nine volumes based on encyclopedic compilation: geography, history, nature, society, culture, art, literature, science, and education. It introduces and explains the past and present of Chinese culture through high-quality video that draws on the perspectiveof a foreigner. In April 2011, this project was chosen as one of 20 items in the 12th Five-Year Plan’s National Key Audio and Video Publication Publishing Planning Key Project compiled by the General Administration of Press and Publication.
